If you’re just starting out and want to feel more confident in knowing what you need in your toiletry bag for a basic skincare regime, start with the following five key components:
Cleanser - Use AM and PM to emulsify dirt & oil from the surface of the skin. By using a gentle cleanser instead of harsh soaps, you will avoid stripping the natural protective oils on your skin.
Scrub - Use 2-3 times a week, before you shave. A scrub will remove dead skin cell and excess oil, unclog pores, and loosen the beard. This plays a key role in preventing in grown hairs and irritation, and will allow you to obtain a closer shave. The scrub can replace the cleanser when it is used.
Shaving Cream / Gel - It is important to use a good shaving product when shaving to soften the beard. Many extra-foamy shaving products contain artificial ingredients & harsh detergents, which have a negative impact on the skin. The best time to shave is in the shower, or right after the shower, as the beard will be at its softest.
Moisturizer - Use AM and PM to protect, nourish, and hydrate the skin in order to keep your skin looking at its best. Moisturizers are necessary, even for people with oily skin – just get the right moisturizer for your skin type.
Under Eye Cream - While the appearance of the undereye skin is partly genetic and lifestyle related, there are products that can help. Specific, targeted treatments are absolutely essential - the skin under the eye is very delicate and much thinner than any other area of skin on your body. Use AM and PM after cleansing.
